Two in five forget to redeem online deals1-Day did not receive the minimum number of responses for both 'ability to use' and 'after sale service', however achieved at least the minimum sample requirements for all other criteria.
Daily deals websites can offer great value for a variety of services, but some customers are failing to capitalise on these deals post-purchase. According to our latest survey of group buying / daily deal website customers, two in five people forgot to redeem their coupon after purchase.
Consumers should also be careful not to repeat the mistakes of the quarter of respondents who failed to read through the terms and conditions of their deal during the purchase process, and were reportedly caught out later on (e.g. with extra fees).
Every day, three quarters of our survey respondents either visit a coupon or daily deal website, or read through their offerings by email – a similar number as reported in last year’s results. Furthermore, close to a quarter stated they were “addicted” to daily deals, and real value-hunters (one in five) would only dine out using a daily deal or group buying voucher.
Less than 20% of respondents reported making a formal complaint about their experience with an online group buying website (17%).
