About Fisher & Paykel Clothes Dryers

Achieving a solid customer satisfaction rating of three stars, Kiwis are probably pretty happy with their Fisher and Paykel clothes dryers. These machines are hailed by the company as being the most intelligent in the world, offering better clothing care and reliability than their competitors.

A brief history of the company

Fisher and Paykel started in New Zealand in 1934 and have always been striving to be at the forefront of innovation in appliances.

The company initially was importing appliances such as Crosley refrigerators and Kelvinator washing machines from America, and selling them in New Zealand. But when the New Zealand dollar declined in 1938, importing manufactured products was banned, and they had to make a change.

It was this downturn that prompted Fisher and Paykel to import the component parts and assemble washing machines themselves, under license to other companies. This eventually led to the company differentiating themselves by adding their own technology to the models they knew how to assemble.

The business expanded into cooking appliances in the 1950s, where they continued to put their own innovative ideas into existing designs. Today, great ideas are still flooding the company, which has won many awards for their wide range of products.

What our survey respondents say…

Fisher and Paykel only have a small family of dryers (as they lovingly put it), but a small range is no big issue, as this Kiwi Brand deliver top quality compact dryers.

Two 5kg, one 4kg, and one 8kg dryer make up their range, and all are packed with clever functions to optimally dry your washing.  Every Fisher and Paykel dryer has two temperatures, so your load won’t be too hot or too cold. They also have a reverse tumbling function so your clothes won’t tangle and end up with hot spots or damp patches.

All four dryers are compact, measuring less than a meter in height, width, and depth – even the large 8kg dryer can fit into a small space with ease, leaving more room to move in the laundry.
