About Samsung Ovens

In 2015, Samsung was one of the oven brands rated in our Canstar Blue customer satisfaction survey. Here’s a brief rundown on Samsung ovens.

The people behind the brand

Samsung began in 1938 as a small trading company that sold noodles and dried seafood. Samsung Electronics was founded in 1969 in South Korea, beginning by producing televisions. Samsung now ranks as a top 10 global brand.

Samsung is a large, family-owned corporation or a ‘chaebol’, which means ‘wealth clan’ in Korean. This allows them to invest in developing new technology instead of just producing an endless line of static products.

Their mission is to make life better for people around the world, and it does this by sponsoring many different community development projects. For example, in 2012 they sponsored the London Paralympic Games and developed the eyeCam, an eye-tracking mouse for the disabled.

Samsung is also committed to sustainability and was the only Asian company to be one of the ten global companies listed in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI). Its current slogan is ‘Turn On Tomorrow’.

Some Samsung oven innovations

1990: Samsung developed and launched its induction oven and cooktop.

2008: Samsung launched its electric oven line.

2010: Samsung launched its gas oven line.

NEO 70L Dual Cook Electric Oven: The NEO range brings you the “Dual Cook” system. These ovens have a divider that turns your one oven into two ovens. Using Twin Convection™ technology, this means your two dishes can be cooked at the same time at different temperatures. There’s no transfer of heat or smell, so you can fearlessly cook fish in one oven and a cheesecake in the other.

You can also be energy efficient by only using one of the two oven sections when you only have one dish to cook. Or you can remove the divider when you want to cook one giant roast.

Self-cleaning: Like many other modern ovens, Samsung ovens can clean themselves using catalytic self-cleaning technology. The built-in “food remnant” tray not only collects grease and other residue while the oven is working but also chemically dissolves them for you. Elbow grease not needed! The oven also steam cleans itself when it gets exceptionally dirty, so all you have to do is give it a quick swipe with a paper towel.
