As part of our mission to inform consumers of the best NZ has to offer, this year Canstar Blue canvassed the opinions of 2394 New Zealanders who had purchased a product from an electronics retailer in the past 12 months, across a range of categories, to measure and track their satisfaction.

To decide which electronics retailer offers the best level of customer satisfaction, each was rated across the following categories:

  • Overall Satisfaction
  • Customer Service
  • Layout of Store
  • Price
  • Range of Products
  • Value for Money

Coming out on top is 100% Appliances, the clear winner of Canstar Blue’s award for Most Satisfied Customers | Electronic Retailers.

This year’s award marks back-to-back wins for 100% Appliances. Yet again, it is the only electronics retailer in our award to earn top 5-Star ratings in the all-important categories of Customer Service and Value for Money.

The only other retailer to earn multiple 5-Star ratings is PB Tech, which earns 5-Stars for Range of Products and Comparable Pricing.

Other commendable 4-Star ratings go to: Harvey Norman, Noel Leeming and JB Hi-Fi.

 

What Kiwis Want From Their Electronics Retailers

From our awards research, it’s clear that Kiwi consumers appreciate two things: Customer Service and Value for Money. They are the two biggest factors driving customer satisfaction.

This is supported by our wider research, which reveals that half of us (51%) always wait for a sale before making a significant appliance purchase, and that 38% respect and follow the advice of in-store sales staff.

Over half of Kiwi consumers (53%) also say they are prepared to pay more for a quality product that delivers better value for money. Overall, the main drivers of satisfaction are:

Canstar Blue surveyed 5004 New Zealand consumers across a range of categories to measure and track customer satisfaction, via ISO 26362 accredited research panels managed by Qualtrics. The outcomes reported are the results. In this case, 2394 New Zealanders. Brands must have received at least 30 responses to be included. Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands receiving three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10. Not all brands available in the market have been compared in this survey. The ratings table is first sorted by star ratings and then by mean overall satisfaction. A rated brand may receive a ‘N/A’ (Not Applicable) rating if it does not receive the minimum number of responses for that criterion.
