Dyson’s products are renowned for their quality. And despite their higher price points, they’re a hit in Kiwi households. This year, Dyson has achieved the hot-cold double, earning Canstar’s Portable Heaters Award, as well as our Fans Award.
In our award research, Dyson achieves top 5-Star ratings across five out of six categories, for: Design, Ease of Use, Features, and Overall Satisfaction.
For Value for Money, Dyson earns 3 Stars, which is by no means a measure of dissatisfaction. Rather it shows that Dyson’s customers are happy with the levels of value offered by their purchases, which do come at higher price points than most fans offered by other brands.
Dyson’s fans are renowned for their unique, bladeless designs, which produce smoother currents of cooling air. The brand’s range comprises seven models, four of which also offer heating functionality.

Goldair offers an impressive range of fans, including desk, ceiling and wall fans, plus pedestal, bladeless tower fans and powerful workshop models, many of which feature wi-fi and remote controls.
Goldair’s prices start at $100, for its compact desk fan, and go up to around $500 for heat-cool tower fan models.

Brands must have received at least 30 responses to be included. Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands receiving three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10. Not all brands available in the market have been compared in this survey. The ratings table is first sorted by star ratings and then by mean overall satisfaction. A rated brand may receive a ‘N/A’ (Not Applicable) rating if it does not receive the minimum number of responses for that criterion.
