Go Healthy: New Zealand’s Favourite Health Supplements

And they make it clear, GO Healthy is the way to go. For the second year in a row, GO Healthy is rated the nation’s favourite, and the winner of Canstar Blue’s Most Satisfied Customers | Health Supplements Award.

The New Zealand manufacturer is the only brand to score 5 Stars for Overall Satisfaction, thanks to two outstanding 5-Star results for Effectiveness and Value for Money. Importantly, these two categories are by far the most important in the minds of Kiwi consumers: 42% of those surveyed want to know that, first and foremost, a supplement is actually going to work. While 27% rate Value for Money as their No.1 driver of satisfaction.

Go Healthy scores excellent 4-Star ratings in all other categories.

While GO Healthy is the clear winner of our Most Satisfied Customers | Health Supplements Award, several other brands are extremely popular among consumers. In fact, eight of the 12 brands measured earn a 4-Star Overall Satisfaction rating!

Go Healthy

GO Healthy is clearly the country’s favourite health supplement. In addition to its back-to-back Canstar Blue wins, it’s also the No.1 selling supplement brand in pharmacies. Available exclusively in pharmacies and health-food stores, Go Healthy products use the highest quality, sustainably sourced ingredients, blended to the perfect potency. Berocca

Berocca is one of the most well-known supplements in New Zealand. NZ Muscle was founded in 2006, and since then the 100% NZ-owned and operated business has grown into a real success story.

As the name suggests, NZ Muscle offers a wide range of sports nutrition and bodybuilding supplements, from protein powders and creatine, to pre-workout and post-workout supplements.

Furthermore, NZ Muscle offers plenty of general health supplements to support a healthy lifestyle, from multivitamins to stress and sleep support, gut health and more.

In this year’s award survey, NZ Muscle earns 5 Stars for both Value for Money and Taste and 4 Stars for Overall Satisfaction, Effectiveness, and Ease of Consumption. Due to its products being available only at NZ Muscle stores, or via the NZ Muscle website, it earns just 3 Stars for Availability.

Blackmores

A leading Australian natural health company, Blackmores was founded in Brisbane in the 1930s by Naturopath Maurice Blackmore. Blackmores has long prided itself on being at the forefront of the health industry. It helped establish the first naturopathic colleges and associations in Australia and became cruelty-free in 1978, the first company in Australia to do so.

Swisse

Founded in Australia in 1969, and now owned by Hong Kong-based H&H Group, Swisse offers a wide range of health and beauty products. Its products cover all needs, from general health to speciality needs and include a wide range of capsules, powders, effervescents and gummies.

In this year’s award survey, Swisse earns a clean sweep of 4-Star results across all categories measured.

Nutralife

Founded in 1967,  Nutralife produces most of its products in its plant in East Tamaki, New Zealand. The products are scientifically researched and triple-tested: prior to production, during production and post-production. Nutralife’s expansive range of supplements covers a huge range of general and specialty needs. Some of its most popular products support joint health, probiotic health and immune health, plus sleep and muscular support.

In this year’s award survey, Nutralife earns mixed results. It earns excellent 4-Star ratings for Overall Satisfaction, Effectiveness, and Ease of Consumption, and 3 Stars in all other categories measured.

Thompson’s

The Thompson’s brand was established by English herbalist M. Barrington Thompson, who opened New Zealand’s first health shop in 1951. Today, Thompson’s is a market leader in natural healthcare in New Zealand. Across its range of natural supplements, Thompson’s offers solutions for a wide array of health requirements, from general well-being, eye care, and brain function, to kids’ health, one-a-day herbs and more.

In this year’s award survey, Thompson’s earns a sweep of 4-Star results across all categories measured bar one, for Effectiveness, where it earns a respectable 3 Stars.

Healtheries

Healtheries is an NZ brand known for its delicious teas, as well as its health supplements. Its products include capsules for all manner of health needs: supplementing deficiencies, assisting with stress and sleep, and providing multivitamins for general health.

Likewise, its range of teas covers everything from standard green tea and chai, to blends for immunity, digestion, detoxing, sleep and more.

Healtheries’ teabags are now also 100% free from plastic, synthetic fibres, bleach, glue and staples, and are home compostable.

In this year’s award survey, Healtheries earns 4 Stars across all categories measured, except for a single 3-Star rating for Effectiveness.
