What is Mighty Mobile?

A new pre-paid mobile provider is here in New Zealand. Online retailer Mighty Ape has joined the telco market, offering high-speed unlimited data across mobile plans that come with a range of max data speeds.

What is Mighty Mobile?

Mighty Mobile is a pre-paid telco service from online retailer, Mighty Ape. It piggybacks on the One network, so offers premier coverage across the country.

Typically, many unlimited data plans from other telcos come with monthly max data speed caps, which slow data downloads to frustratingly slow speeds once the cap is reached. Mighty Mobile’s point of difference is that the data speeds on its cheaper plans come already capped, albeit at much higher speeds that still permit video streaming.

What plans does Mighty Mobile offer?

Mighty Mobile offers three unlimited mobile plans:

• Fast Plan
• Faster Plan
• Fastest Plan

Fast Plan

• Unlimited data up to 10Mbps
• Unlimited standard calls and texts in NZ and AUS
• Good for 720p, HD

Faster Plan

• Unlimited data up to 50Mbps
• Unlimited standard calls and texts in NZ and AUS
• Good for 1080p, FHD

Fastest Plan

• Unlimited max speed data
• Unlimited standard calls and texts in NZ and AUS
• Good for 4K, ultra HD

Note that all Mighty Mobile plans come with free Hotspot included.

How much do Mighty Mobile plans cost?

As part of a launch promotion, Mighty Mobile is currently running a half-price discount on all its plans for the first three months:

• Fast Plan – $20/month* ($40 thereafter)
• Faster Plan – $25/month* ($50 thereafter)
• Fastest Plan – $40/month* ($80 thereafter)

How can you sign up for Mighty Mobile?

Signing up to Mighty Mobile is a straightforward online process:

1. Visit the Mighty Mobile website
2. Click the big orange “Sign Up” button
3. Fill in your personal details
4. Provide credit/debit card details

Once you’ve signed up, you’ll be sent a Mighty Mobile SIM card pre-loaded with your new plan. You’re able to keep your current phone number or change it to a new one.
