Toyota: New Zealand's Favourite Used Car Dealership

Toyota: New Zealand’s Favourite Used Car Dealership

Kiwis love Toyota cars, so it’s no surprise they love Toyota used car dealerships. This year’s Most Satisfied Customers | Used Car Dealerships Award winner.

Kiwis love cars. In fact, we’re not far from having a car for every person in the country, regardless of if they can actually drive or not! So while we may be famous for having more sheep than people, cars may soon be on that list, too.

But while a brand new set of wheels sounds nice, when it does come time for a new car, many of us can’t afford to shop brand new. And, interestingly, many of us don’t want to.

Only half (53%) of those in our awards research say they’d buy a brand-new car if they could afford to. Since new cars tend to suffer their biggest, instant drop in value the moment they drive off the lot, it’s perhaps a testament to the Kiwi desire for a good deal that we’d rather stick with second-hand, even if the budget allows for more.

But if you’re going to buy a used car, you need to know it’s not a lemon. Which is why dealing with a reputable and reliable dealership is key.

And that’s where Canstar can help.

Toyota: New Zealand’s favourite used car dealership

As part of our mission to inform consumers of the best NZ has to offer, Canstar Blue canvassed the opinions of 686 New Zealanders who had purchased a car from a used car dealership over the past three years.

To find out which provider is the nation’s favourite, we asked respondents to evaluate their experiences across the following categories:

  • Overall Satisfaction
  • After Sale Service
  • Customer Service/Advice
  • Finance options available

  • Premises
  • Range of vehicles
  • Value for Money

And the results make it clear, Toyota is the way to go, and the winner of this year’s Most Satisfied Customer | Used Car Dealerships Award!

Toyota is one of the most popular and trusted vehicle brands. So it’s little surprise that Toyota’s own used car dealerships are just as beloved. Not only is Toyota our award winner, but it earns 5 Stars for every single category measured in this year’s award.

That record is even more impressive when you factor in no other provider earns a single 5-Star rating at all! Although both Turners and 2 Cheap Cars still earn excellent 4-Star Overall Satisfaction results.
