Reluctant shoppers will brighten up with five star service from New World

2011 Award for Supermarket ServiceThe idea of going for the weekly shop might be more appealing if shoppers knew a smile and a helping hand were well in stock…and shoppers are more likely to find both at New World.

We’ve rated leading brands New World, Countdown and PAK’n SAVE in our latest survey to determine which supermarket is number one for service.

The survey found that New World should be at the top of everyone’s shopping list, having received five stars and our most satisfied customers award for supermarket service.

Countdown received four stars in this area, while PAK’n SAVE followed closely behind with three. Both Coundown and PAK’n SAVE were recipients of awards in our supermarket survey, where we also rated price and range.

Our results also show that New Zealand men have been taking it easy when it comes to their household shopping duties, with half of respondents to our latest survey saying they weren’t the primary grocery shopper in their household.

Worse still, men were more likely than women to resent doing the weekly grocery shop.

By comparison, nearly three quarters of female respondents admitted they took care of a majority of the supermarket shopping for their home.

Canstar Blue commissions Colmar Brunton Australia to survey 2,500 New Zealand consumers across a range of categories every few months to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results from customers of supermarkets within the survey group – in this case, 1163 people. To qualify, the customer must have made a purchase from a supermarket in the last six months. Brands must receive at least 30 responses to be included.

Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands that received three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10.
